Lift Off Starts With Listening
On May 9th, 2026, our team proudly produced the 15th Annual Glenn Gould Prize Gala, honouring Sir Elton John.
From the very beginning, our goal was never simply to create a gala for people to watch. Our goal was to create something people could feel.
An experience rooted in emotion, generosity, artistry, and humanity. One where guests left not only feeling more connected to Elton John, but also carrying a deeper understanding of Glenn Gould; his brilliance, his influence, and why his legacy continues to matter today.
Every creative decision, every cue, every transition, every lighting moment, every note of music, and every conversation behind the scenes was shaped by that intention.
In “Lift Off Starts with Listening,” our Trevor reflects on the experience of bringing the 15th Glenn Gould Prize Gala to life, and the power of collaboration, trust, and listening in creating moments that move people.

It was very early in the morning and it was still dark outside, heavy snow falling and blanketing the evergreens beyond the big picture window of my hotel room.
It was the final day of our corporate retreat at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity when we scheduled a last-minute meeting with the CEO and Director of Operations and Production from The Glenn Gould Foundation.
The meeting was booked for one hour.
We talked for two.
There were big dreams and ambitious ideas swirling through the conversation as we discussed their vision for the 15th Glenn Gould Prize Gala honouring Elton John and the legacy of Glenn Gould. But more than anything, during our time together, we listened.
Really listened.
We left that meeting with full hearts, inspired by the opportunity to create a proposal for what would become a truly extraordinary experience.
Our team produces many music-related events and experiences, but it is not every day you are entrusted with bringing to life the legacy of two iconic musical figures: Glenn Gould and Elton John.
Very early on, one thing became abundantly clear to us:
We needed to create an experience that Elton, and everyone in the room, could feel.
That became our guiding principle.
From the music and multi-camera direction to the production design and decor, we began assembling a creative team we believed could bring this moment in Canadian music history to life.
And somehow [by magic or miracle, or both] everyone was available.
We received the green light in early February and, in just over three months, created the experience.
This required trust, adaptability, and a willingness to keep moving forward together with open hearts, open minds, and a shared belief in what this moment could become.
For me, the process was a powerful reminder that the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.
Beyond the physical elements of an event, every meeting, every conversation, every interaction becomes woven into the fabric of the experience itself.
The visible and the invisible elements together create the feeling.
My role as an event producer is to bring together the right people, create an environment where they feel safe and inspired, and then help each person shine in their own light.
To say I am grateful to everyone who helped bring this experience to life for Elton John and The Glenn Gould Foundation is an understatement.
The level of artistry, collaboration, care, and talent that shaped this moment was world class.
Thank you to every single person who BELIEVED and helped create something that allowed all of us to feel something together.
Because music [and live event experiences] really can change the world for good.
