To celebrate Kiewit’s clients, employees and their families during the famous Calgary Stampede we created The Kiewit Korral. This two day, two event project provided them the opportunity to host their clients and guests in an adult only evening extravaganza which was amortized and flipped to host employees and their families the following morning.

This feel good event provided the added value of supporting a charitable partner through clever themed fundraising initiatives on site.

  • The Experience

    The experience began with the creation of an elevated event brand which launched the adult only event on “sneak-a-peek” Thursday of Stampede.


    The Hotel Arts east parking lot was completely transformed into a contemporary and uniquely tented western event space. Custom Kiewit Korral Bourbon lemonade cocktails were served at the superbar and outlying beverage locations along with our curated Hotel Arts morsels on plentiful food stations. The entertainment for the event included three bands, with the client requested George Canyon as the headliner. 500 guests enjoyed perfect weather and our seamless execution and it was overheard throughout the evening that it was the “best Stampede party I’ve ever attended”.


    The site was flipped overnight to add more seating, along with family fun activities such as a bouncy house, face painters, balloon artists, and a Korral petting zoo. The Calgary Stampede Parade played live on the big screen, giving guests the best seats in the city, complete with a pancake breakfast and custom hair-of-the-dog cocktails for those that attended the night before.

    The custom Kiewit Korral bourbon lemonade cocktail created by the fabulous Christina Mah. Nuff said.
